on the fridge

This weekend our fridge stopped cooling, so I emptied it and turned it off in anticipation of the repairman visit today. And, considering it was disgustingly filthy inside (amazing how much worse things look when they are bare!), I also cleaned it. This gave me lots of time to study the white monstrosity in our kitchen and all of the accummulated junk/treasures stuck on it. Here's a snapshot.

Magnetic Poetry

A snowy barn in black and white
    as you show me spring

Two African children we have never met
    a thousand whispers
    never easy
    always with me
    aches

Day-old Liam hung by a dusty bunch of plastic cherries
    true beauty trudges through
    void

A wedding, a boy and magnetic Betty dressed in a skirt and one shoe
    petals fall like honey
    languid ly
