
My son is on a mission. This weekend Liam wanted something to "do," so I gave him a stack of old Christmas cards, tape and scissors and told him to make an ornament. Instead, he set off to make gifts, for everyone.

If you are on Liam's gift list, please don't let on that you know about his cutting and taping. Lots and lots of taping. I promise you will be delighted with your gift.

He couldn't wait to give me mine. He pressed me to open it the night before I was to speak at the Advent Service, and I'm glad he did. I needed his sweet and surprising words.
Now, lest you think my son is all wonderfully angelic, I found a piece of card used for an entirely different purpose yesterday.

Not even the baby Jesus is safe from a LEGO ambush.
